Dussehra, also called Vijayadashami or Dasara, falls on the tenth day after Navratri, in October. It celebrates the victory of good over evil: Lord Rama's victory over Ravana, and the goddess Durga's over the demon Mahishasura.

The community marks the close of Navratri with puja and a celebration of the victory of good over evil.
The Grande Prairie Hindu Association (GPHA), known locally as the GP Hindu Temple, GP Mandir, Grande Prairie Hindu Temple (Mandir) and Peace Temple (Peace Mandir), celebrates Dussehra with Hindu families and friends of every background from Grande Prairie, Peace River, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Everyone is welcome.
