GP Hindu Temple · Grande Prairie Mandir
Sep – Oct · Nine nights of Garba for Maa Durga.

Navratri, "nine nights", honours the nine forms of the goddess Durga in the bright half of Ashvin, in September or October. In Gujarati tradition each night is danced in Garba around a lamp (garbo) and in Dandiya Raas with sticks, after aarti to Maa Amba. It is followed by Dussehra on the tenth day.
Also called: Navaratri, Navratri Garba, Garba, Dandiya Raas, Garba night, Sharad Navratri.
The Grande Prairie Hindu Association's Navratri is its largest celebration: Garba and Raas nights for the whole family, with aarti, music and food. Guests register online in advance, and one booking covers several nights and everyone coming, with one QR ticket by email.
The Grande Prairie Hindu Association (GPHA), known locally as the GP Hindu Temple, GP Mandir, Grande Prairie Hindu Temple (Mandir) and Peace Temple (Peace Mandir), celebrates Navratri with Hindu families and friends of every background from Grande Prairie, Peace River, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Everyone is welcome.
Dates for the next Navratri celebration are posted on the home page as soon as they are set. Members hear first, and can register before tickets open to everyone.
